The Four Ds of Neglect
Diminish, Deny, Dismiss, & Disown
Doing Without is a complicated issue affecting generations, and to reverse its’ effects, we must consider painful possibilities. The first is the degree to which alienation existed (regardless of whether anyone agrees with you or validates your conclusions). Secondly, if Neglect did exist, to then acknowledge that it may be the result of the four Ds of Neglect: a diminishing, a denying, a dismissing, or even a disowning of the parenting role.
